I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
